Posse Social Media is always ready to help you take the next step in social growth, but if you decide to try and do it yourself, here are a few engagement points you should make sure to include in your social media strategy.
1. Post content your fans can relate to. This may seem self-explanatory, but it’s always worth repeating. The more your viewers can identify with what you post, the more likely they will engage with shares or comments.
2. Include some humor. While many people visit your page for updates or inspiration, sometimes they just want to be entertained. Pinterest is a great source for fun quotes and photos you can share.
3. Make your content easy to share. On Twitter there is a 140 character limit. Are your tweets short enough so that someone won’t have to edit it? Make sharing as easy as possible so that your fans only have to click a button.
4. Post photos and videos. Consider posting behind the scenes photos of everyday business, events and functions your employees attend or photos of people using your products. Ask your fans to share photos too.
5. Follow the calendar. Most people love holiday and seasonal content. Some things to look forward to in the next few months are Valentine’s Day, Spring Break, and St. Patrick’s Day. You can engage your fans with content related to crafts for holidays, vacation spots, and activities to keep the kids busy while they are out of school.
6. Offer contests or giveaway. You know you like free stuff, so why wouldn’t your fans? Be careful not to over do it, but a contest or giveaway every now and then will offer your loyal fans a thank you for staying as well as bring some new fans in.
Engage with fun
Have all that covered? Great! Here are a few simple, yet fun, ideas to throw in every once in a while.
- This or That- Present 2 choices and ask your fans what they prefer.
- Trivia- Throw up a multiple choice question and see if your fans can get the answer right.
- Fill in the Blank- Take a sentence, omit a word and have your fans fill in the blank. There are a lot of fun ways this can be done.
- Caption This- Find a funny picture and ask your fans to tell you what they think it portrays.
Don’t wait for your clients to reach out to you, take advantage of social media and engage them first or hire the Posse to do it for you!
