I know what you are thinking – did I read that title right? Does it really mention the future of bacon? The short and dirty answer to that is yes. Your next question may be centered on the thought that maybe I have slipped my lid. Your answer to that one, however, is a resounding NO. I am still in charge of my faculties. What I AM trying to get a handle on, however, is a great idea on how to come up with your next blog post. The question at hand should really be – Random or Not Random, what type of post should I add next?
Blogging can be super exciting – until you are on your third or fourth post that is. At that point, you may feel that you’re facing an impenetrable wall made up of the myriad choices of topics facing you. So how do you choose an award-winning topic and expand upon it properly each and every time? Sorry to disappoint, but you rarely do achieve such a feat. The reason for this is because of diversity. You know the old saying – you can please all of the people some of the time or some of the people all of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.
This raises an important question – why try? And THERE is the point of my bacon-y title. Sometimes it can actually pay off by choosing a random topic and going for it. You spend all your time pounding away on a certain point, blog after blog and you are going to end up burning out. Find a topic that is humorous yet appropriate and work it into your postings. Take the time to put your own brand of humor into the subject. You will likely be surprised how many people can end up responding to some of the most random of topics!
Now you might get the point of my bacon oriented title! How many people love bacon? Bunches right? How many people who love bacon could use some help with their social media or some website building? Tons! How did I hit on such a random blog post title? Easy as pie – check out the Blog Post Idea Generator. You may get some cool titles such as – Some thoughts on Cottage Cheese – or other not so cool titles like – I wanted to learn more about Kim Kardashian. Just keep generating titles until you get one that really speaks to you.
Once you get your super random post title, simply start writing. Really. No, I’m not kidding. Yes, you can do it. It is that simple! We tend to make writing harder than it needs to be. As such, if you can just let go and write about a totally random subject then you will start to find writing about focused topics will become easier than ever. While you may start your post out talking about the Virtues of Peeling Rhubarb, you will be able to segway your readers into a post that talks about any topic of your choice. Randomness most certainly has its benefits!
