In the first three parts of our series of points on SEO we covered topics such as the importance of quality content, analyzing your results, staying away from so-called snake oil salesmen, keeping things simple, why pay-per-click is less than effective, and how SEO is not a magic bullet, DIY SEO, the importance of taking things one step at a time, and more. In our final piece we will discuss incoming links and the reasons why choosing a skilled and experienced digital agency to develop your SEO campaigns is a good idea. Read on!
Point Eleven
All Incoming Links are not Equal
Your PageRank (PR) is affected by many different things. One of those things includes incoming links. The website tied to the incoming link has a great deal to play in the matter. Its subject matter, the relation that site plays to your own, and the actual PR value of the incoming link itself all go into determining how good they are for your own PageRank. With all the changes to Google and other search engines, the days of simply grabbing as many inbound links as possible are now gone. In fact, inbound links coming from low rank or irrelevant site can even damage your own PR. Link farms are now going the way of the dinosaur.
Point Twelve
It’s More Than Statistics and Fancy Charting
The relationship between your company and the SEO firm you choose to hire must be well established. SEO is not nearly all about statistics, numbers, figures or other such issues. The company that you choose to create your SEO strategy must be willing to dig in and worry you to death with questions designed to ensure that you get the soundest SEO strategy possible. We have had clients ask us if they are our only clients due to the number of emails and calls we have sent their way when establishing their SEO strategy. The truth is, until Posse Social Media knows your business almost as well as you do it is outstanding to have them call so regularly. It allows you to know that we are working hard to produce the best SEO campaign possible. We treat each client as if they are the only one that matters. That is because at that point it is true. We do not spend time working on multiple clients at once. Rather we spend all our effort on the client at hand and take them one at a time through the process rather than trying to mill them out as much as possible.
Search Engine Optimization is a very personal process in so far as no two businesses or websites are the same. Their needs, wants, and requirements are all different. As such, there is no one size fits all SEO solution that will work despite what some companies may offer. Working with a digital agency like Posse Social Media will allow you to develop a well-rounded SEO strategy and campaign that will produce results that last. This leaves just one question: what are you doing to optimize your SEO today?
