Everywhere you look nowadays it seems that Google has a hand in that field. Starting off as a search engine in 1998, it has since grown to the behemoth that it is now with what seems like a googol of products and services.

Enter Google Drive

Two years ago Google launched one of its most useful products ever, Google Drive. Drive is a cloud storage system which automatically saves user edits to the documents and is home to the suite of of online productivity software.
The suite consists of products like Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and many more. These three products have the ability to have an open document, spreadsheet or powerpoint that can be shared and edited which has been instrumental for many purposes from business to educational. Drive has given users the ability to view over 30 types of files in their browser…even if you do not have the program that usually opens that file type installed on your computer. Some examples of these files are HD video, Photoshop and Illustrator. It also gives you the option to work offline (if you are using Chrome). When there is no network connection users can turn on the Drive offline function and can now create, edit and comment on those Docs, Slides and Sheets. In addition to opening files and being able to work offline, Drive automatically saves and tracks every change the user makes in Docs, Sheets and Slides, forever. For other file types users can see as far back as 30 days. This makes it considerably easier on the user to restore previous versions of the file if a problem arises. It is also very helpful for personal and business uses as well. As you may know, being able to access your work remotely is extremely helpful. In addition, Google Drive also offers other apps essential to a successful business such as Calendar, Hangouts and Sites. Calendar offers users the capacity to create calendars accessible by all the people on your team. You can put an event calendar on your companies website or even set up appointment slots for customers to choose what time works for them. Hangouts–Google’s version of Skype–allows users to have a HD video meeting with up to 15 participants from wherever they may be. Hangouts even has a mobile app that is available on the iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets. Sites is useful for users to build project sites on which you can organize everything from calendars to documents to presentations and videos. Huge enterprises such as the NFL recognize all the utilities Google has to offer too. In the 2014 NFL Draft Google partnered with a few potential first round picks to conduct Google+ Hangouts with fans and media outlets. Some of the more notable players who did this included Tajh Boyd, Connor Shaw, and Derek Carr. Google has come up with several revolutionizing ideas, and is sure to think up some more so stay up-to-date!
