Social Media Networking Just Got Better

With Facebook unveiling “Home” for Android phones the social media networking juggernaut kicks it up another notch in being able to reach people even more easily. By adding the “Home” experience on Android gadgets it will help to further cement social networking’s role on people’s mobile devices. This is a bold move by the company. They are looking to increase their marketing revenue to
$965 million for 2013 in the U.S. per EMarketer.

The number of users for Facebook is estimated at 1.06 billion per month with 680 million that log in using a mobile gadget according to Associated Press. You can see why this social media networking site wants to put an ‘in your face’ sort of interface on mobile gadgets. Facebook hopes to continue drawing new users in by giving people what they want and making it easier to access. Starting April 12, users can choose to download the “Home” onto certain models of Android smartphones. Turn your smartphone on and people will see their Facebook feeds instead of the usual mess that they have to go through to access some simple app.

A feature of Facebook called “chat heads” will let users’ text their friends and family directly from the home page. This will make life easier for those that do a lot of texting when communicating with others. Making connecting with others easier and faster is the goal of CEO Mark Zuckerberg and team. Interestingly enough, Facebook Home will not be offered for Apple devices in the foreseeable future which is not surprising given the seeming reluctance of Apple to work with Facebook in the past.

Facebook keeps pushing forward and will continue to do so making it an important part of a business’s social media marketing plan. Nobody wants to be left out in the cold when it comes to connecting with their clients and customers. Staying connected is a must in today’s fast paced world and what better means to do so than being able to get information at a moment’s notice when people are on the move?

Many will check to see what is happening in their favorite place when they are out which is especially important for small to medium service oriented businesses. Larger businesses can stay on top of what is happening as well. You can bet that the ability to post from “Home” means that it will be easier for those businesses that may need to get the word out quick. Advertising will be a part of the “Home” initiative in time and learning about Android gadgets and their users will help businesses make better choices with their marketing dollars.

Facebook continues to strive and grow in the competitive market place by adding ease of access to Android mobile gadgets. Not only will users be able to have immediate access to their Facebook but can also use “chat head” to text friends, family and others without having to open a separate app. Facebook has shown once more that it is doing its best to drive social networking innovation.
