We have been over six ways that social media can help your small business. Most of these have really had to do with the outside look and feel of your business. I want to really focus on the inner workings of your business and how social media can help you manage and enhance how you run your business. Here are the last three benefits on my list of nine.

A great way to find more new hires that are better, smarter and more efficient

Posting a job opening in a trade paper or local newspaper gets a few people to see you, thus a small pool to choose from. Listing with a job search website opens the door even more, but adding a join our team feature takes it a step further. Your followers go to your site and think, “Hey, I could really work here.” This opens up a great deal more than traditional means. Add to the links and comments and posts you have opened a whole new world to your company.

With a list of individuals who want to work for or with you, it is possible to then use your networking to find out more about these individuals. You can learn more about them through the social media they use. Comments, interests, likes and groups that they have been a part of are easy to find. This gives you great insight into who they are and how they will fit into your organization. These connections can also give you recommendations on individuals you want to look into further.

Find solutions to your problems

Social media is a great networking tool as I have said before. As an extension to that you can use these new contacts to solve your problems. These can come in many different forms and from many different sources. Some examples of these questions: How do you find better new hires? Where do I go to find a good graphic designer for my new webpage? This is where you ask your connections for advice about things they specialize in. This is a lot faster than trying to dig up the information and/or resources on your own.

Be a great mentor to others

With all the benefits that you receive from social media it is always good to share what you have learned. Finding perspective sponsors, partners and groups that have what you need is great but finding someone needs your expertise is so rewarding. You never know who you will help and you never know how great they will become and greatness by association is greatness none the less.

I hope these points have helped you see how your business can really benefit from the tools and resources that social media cam provide you with. Of course, there are a million more reasons to take advantage of these types of services for your small company but hopefully I have given you some food for thought.
