If you use Google+, you may see your Klout score go up! Klout has built a new scoring model to calculate activity on Google+’s brand new social network-that certainly didn’t take long!

Klout measures the online influence of users and has now allowed Google+ to be added to the Klout dashboard of users as of September 22 2011. Klout has now integrated its system of measurement with Google+’s scoring models in order to give you an integrated system that gives you larger… well, Klout!

Some scores have already jumped up. For example, co-founder of the old social media system “MySpace” Tome Anderson, saw his score jump from 64 to 77 overnight. Other people have seen their score jump by a few points or even dozens of points completely overnight.

So why did it take so long to merge two already very compatible systems? It’s pretty simple: Klout had to wait for Google+ to get enough registered users in order to get enough data to build the new scoring model. It simply requires quite a bit of prior information before an accurate model can be built. Still, Klout was able to build its system after just two months of users on Google+ and that’s fairly astonishing.

If you’re worried about your score moving in the wrong direction, stop. No scores will decrease and Klout will only look at your public postings in order to create your score. About 62% of users on Klout are also users on Google+ and so they will see their score impacted in a positive way or not at all, but never in a negative manner.

CEO of Klout holds great hopes for the integration of Klout and Google+.

“[…]Influence was the ability to drive people to actions and Google+ has great signals such as +1s and comments…. Conversion frequency and quality on Google+ really sets it apart from other platforms.”

So far, 12 social platforms in total have been integrated into Klout, allowing users to score a wide range of mediums. These include Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Foursquare with plans to score YouTube, Tumblr, Blogger, WordPress, Last.fm, and Instangram.

Klout has also announced to had Quora, Yelp, Posterous, Livefyre, Disqus, bit.ly and a host of other services! Pretty soon, you will be able to see your online presence strength on all of your social sites in one place and that will greatly increase your marketing abilities.
